Tour Details
Take a guided day trip from Tokyo to shop and dine at Nakaminato Fish Market, one of the largest tourist markets in Ibaraki, visit Oarai Isosaki Shrine’s Kamiiso-no-Torii gate facing the Pacific Ocean, and explore the rolling hills, grassy plains, and vibrant flowers at Hitachi Seaside Park.
After meeting your guide and driver at the designated location in the morning, begin your journey. Head to your first stop, the Oarai Isosaki Shrine, founded in 856 and dedicated to Okuninushi, a deity of great importance in Japanese history.
Visit the alluring Kamiiso-no-Torii, a sacred gate standing on the seaside rocks where the gods are said to have descended to earth. With the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, behold the breathtaking view amid the sound of waves that bring a sense of mystique to the spot.
Next, head to Nakaminato Market which draws over a million visitors from all corners of Japan every year. Savor fresh and affordable seafood caught on the very day at the waterfront market, about 5.5 km from the beach, making it a leisurely walk if you've already spent time by the shore.
Then, cross the Nakaumi Bridge connecting two coastal areas, passing numerous shrines along the way, and enjoy a self-paced lunch. Finally, arrive at Hitachi Seaside Park, located along the Pacific coastline in Ibaraki.
Admire the coastal dune area, characterized by gentle undulations, with a variety of flowers throughout the year. In spring, tulips, daffodils, and nemophila paint the landscape. Summer boasts sunflowers, lavender, and more. In autumn, kochia, cosmos, and asters steal the show.
In winter, expect ice tulips and plum blossoms with seagulls and swans around. From late April to late May, marvel at a landscape of over 4.5 million baby blue eyes, creating a blue-and-white floral carpet against the backdrop of the sea, sky, and lush gardens.
Apart from a 100-meter-high ferris wheel with panoramic views, enjoy a variety of other attractions at the amusement park. Embrace nature with ample spaces for outdoor activities, barbecues, and cycling.
